The conclusion of the Full Metal Alchemist series, the “Shambala” movie is certainly a must-see. The drama continues as brothers Ed & Al find themselves together again after travelling one dimension to another. Ed, behind the gate has become accustomed to the world without alchemy, and survived driven by a goal, to go back to his real world and be with Al once again. Al, who lost his memory & trained to become the alchemist he once was also longed for his brother whom he knows exist somewhere else.
The 51-episode Hagaren series ended where the movie began. It’s definitely the piece of Hagaren you wouldn’t want to miss.
– It’s pretty amusing to see the adult Ed (I think he’s already 18 in this movie) & also the grown up Al (minus the metal armour). Winry has also grown up, and became a really great automail engineer. She definitely portrayed the character of Ed & Al’s older sister here. It was touching, that she was able to make an automail for Ed without seeing him for 2 years.
– Ed & Al definitely proved their worth as brothers. The lines that Al said to Ed when he decided to be with him in the world without alchemy almost made me cry! Maybe this really makes Hagaren different from the rest of the mangas and anime ever released.
– It was a little sad that Ed wasn’t able to regain his arm and leg.
-Older characters were brought to life on the other side of the gate, where Ed was. The Fuhrer became a nice man… I can’t believe it. Roy Mustang looked pathetic, but still good looking! By the way, The Riza Hawkeye-Roy Mustang love affair isn’t present here.
-The OP & ED by L’Arc~En~Ciel rocks! The soundtrack is also very good.
– Hagaren the movie is one of the best anime movies of all time!! It deserves to be number one in Japan!
