Overview (mangaupdates):

Sana Kurata, a child actress, faces many problems in her classroom, including a major one – her bullying classmate, Akito Hayama. Sana’s outgoing and friendly nature leads her to work towards correcting all of the problems around her. Her ‘meddling’ irritates Hayama but at the same time captivates him, just as Hayama’s gloomy nature irritates Sana and compels her to change him. As these two opposites attract each other, they face many hardships which bring them closer to a mutual understanding.

This manga won the 1998 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo.

I Say…

100% cuteness! I love Sana and Akito! I wish I can watch the anime version too, but I there’s no chance for it to be released as a complete series. Under hiatus for so long already. Anyway, the manga is already cute enough!

I just want to stress on the maturity of the characters. At the beginning of the story they’re only 11 years old. But as young as that they are already too violent and too harsh with their language. But I’m not new to issues of bullying and peer pressure as early as grade school. It does happen.

Akito is very lucky to have best friends, and Sana who acted like a band aid to all his deep wounds from the past. He is a very troublesome kid, if you’d ask me! Sana sort of “thawed” his heart and gave a new meaning to his existence.

You will likely fall in love with this one once you start reading your first volume. It won’t win a shoujo award if it ain’t good, right?
